“Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” (Brenda Lee, 1958)

After a replenishing Half Term in Scotland, I’m back in London and it’s now full steam ahead for Christmas! It’s my favourite time of the year, I love everything about it! The decorations and embellishments, the festive and joyful spirit, the scrumptious cooking, the presents’ quest, the smell of fresh pine tree, orange and cinnamon and most importantly reuniting the family to share enchanted time together.

We celebrate Christmas in a fairly traditional way. My sister is a genius when it comes to decorating a house and to table setting whereas my mother is an excellent cook, her turkey is always so juicy and her Christmas log from is divine! As for myself, I’m very good at … supervising! On Christmas Eve, we have a formal dinner preceded by a Nativity played by our children: they rehearse in secret with their eldest cousins and wear the costumes made by my grand-mother.

Dressing up is part of the fun, we always enjoy comparing our pretty dresses and pumps with my sisters and cousins and I particularly relish finding the best outfits for the children. I do find it important that they wear elegant clothes to teach them that it is way to say “thank you for inviting me”, to please their grand-parents and also to look at their best on the family photo albums! I still fondly remember some of the pretty Christmas dresses I wore as a child.

So as usual, I headed to Amaia to find the children’s 2018 Christmas outfits! They always have a perfect capsule collection with rich tartan, decadent velvet, ravishing lace, handmade smocks and a lovely accessories collection with sparkly shoes, shiny tights, delicate sashes and utterly cute hair bows.Amaia’s refinement at its best for an enchanting festive season!

This exquisite capsule collection is entirely made in Spain in traditional ateliers with savoir-faire transmitted from generations to generationswhich is even more relevant when it comes to Christmas as it is all about traditions, transmission and generations reunited.

For Christmas’ Eve, I went for a delightful matchy look for my three children which will look amazing on our Christmas cards. I love this deep grey tartan enhanced with vibrant cherry red. The Fig dress is so delicate with its white pleated collar and frilly cuffs and you get to choose the colour of the sash to create your own version of the dress! I have added a large matching red hair bow and pretty cherry Mary Jane to finish off Poppy’s look. Pumpkin loves dressing like his Papa and feeling “grown up” so he will wear a smart navy jacket with his shorts.

For New Year’s Eve, I could not resist this utterly beautiful couture dress with its luxurious rosewood silk velvet. This magnificent dress is a real crush for both Poppy and I, we love the refined colour, the incredible softness of the fabric, the subtle shininess, the graceful lace and the contrasting modern shape. I’m sure Poppy will remember and treasure this dress for many years!

Next on my list comes this extremely chic, opulent, deep smooth velvet, one of Amaia’s Christmas classics. Whether in blue or red, you are certain to make an impression! Just change the dress’ sash and accessories to make the most of this versatile outfit which can be worn on any elegant Winter occasion

Lastly for a graphic, modern look, this black dress with a golden ribbon will be perfect. Pair it with sparkly accessories and you will have a very sharp outfit to wear on smart occasions.

Sumptuous, timeless, extremely elegant and of top quality, you are sure to find at Amaia the best festive season’s outfits for your children to treasure and remember fondly!

Wishing you a tremendous Christmas, Mama*
